Social Media Marketing; Content and Value Creation

In 2021, data has shown about there are 4.33 billion users on social media. That amounts to more than 55 percent of the total global population.

Isn’t that crazy?!

And the crazier thing is – the numbers will continue to raise.

With that being said, content creators need to know what do the audience want. What exactly do the audience get from watching or reading their content? The content created has to value add to the users.

Value adding for users comes in many forms like – daily news and articles, keeping you updated with a friend or family member through Facebook and Instagram, online learning, finding a new job, or even just to relax and chill after a long day’s work!

Over here, you can see that percentage of females on social media is higher than the of males. We live in a society consumed by the internet.

Here I would like to post a question to my readers: Is everything you see on the internet real? Can you trust everything on the internet?

How can Content Creators value add to the audience?

There is a particular content creator that I really respect and love – blogilates. She is someone very honest and true to herself. She is not afraid of showing the reality of how a female body looks like when in sitting position. Too many content creators tend to edit and photoshop their photos before posting because they are afraid to get judged for not having the perfect body.

Eating disorders have increased from 3.4% to 7.8% between 2000 and 2008. (The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, 2019). On top of that, anorexia is the most deadly mental illness as someone with anorexia is 56 times more likely to commit suicide than people who do not have an eating disorder. (Eating Disorders Coalition, 2016).

Hence, which is why I really support content creators like blogilates and hope that many more influencers will choose to step up and show their true self.
